《美国勇士》是一项以军事为基础的实体现实比赛，由摔跤巨星约翰·切纳主持。　　16名美国选手分成四组，每组四人，均由四名独立的美国军人率领。四名队长/教练包括一名陆军游骑兵狙击手、一名海豹突击队队长、一名海军陆战队中士和一名陆军中士，他们都经历过战斗，而且都受到高度赞扬。　　参赛者将不得不通过一次又一次的挑战，所有的挑战都是模仿真实的军事训练平台，同时还有荒野的元素。在每一集结束时，三支输掉比赛的队伍的领队将从他们的队伍中挑选一名选手来执行可怕的障碍赛。 WWE® Superstar John CenaTM, along with a brand-new group of mentors - Infantry Drill Sergeant with the U.S Army John Burk, a U.S. Marine Riki Long, an Ammunition Technician with the U.S. Marines Chloe Mondesir and Green Beret Grady Powell - welcome 17 competitors, who either lost their grit or never had it, to sunny Hampton Island, GA.
